Summer Python for Beginners with Raspberry Pi Workshop (Middle School Girls Only)

In August, our lead girl volunteer Ishika Majumder who is a rising senior at Dublin Jerome High School will be hosting a week-long workshop for rising 7th- 9th graders to learn Python using Raspberry Pi. This workshop will run for 3 hours in the morning each day for 5 days.

Throughout the week, she will be teaching the basics of Python with Raspberry Pi ! The girls will learn the syntax and fundamentals of Python across the 5 days and will be able to explore Raspberry Pi in the process. With each sub-unit of Python taught, the girls will be exercising their knowledge with practice problems to ensure confidence. If a girl is a bit behind, we will have numerous high school girls with coding experience helping out. Half way through the week, the girls will be given a project with Raspberry Pi to work on throughout the rest of the week. They will apply the skills they learned with the practice problems and finish their assigned project by the end of the week. On the last day, parents will have a chance to see the projects that the girls created!
